Lowe’s has announced it will be closed on Easter Sunday, joining Costco, Target and Trader Joe’s in giving their employees the holiday off.
Other retailers have observed the holiday in the past. For Lowe’s the decision to close on Easter Sunday is new this year.
To show appreciation to our associates, all Lowe’s stores and distribution centers in the United States and Canada will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 12.
Lowe’s and home improvement competitor Home Depot appear to be doing strong business despite COVID-19 stay-at-home orders in Fresno and elsewhere.
In an interview last month, Lowe’s chief executive confirmed that business has been solid.
“As customers are sheltering in place, they’re looking at that deferred list of home projects,” Marvin Ellison said on CNBC. “As they spend time around the home, they now have more time on their hands to tackle some of those things.”
In the Fresno area, business has been robust as well, based on recent social media posts.
